Anxiety and Depression

I have been inundated with clients suffering from anxiety and depression over the last two years. I am sure the pandemic contributed to it massively, however when your mind is full (overloaded), anxiety builds up, it can get messy, you see your thoughts create feelings and your feelings create more thoughts, all good if your life experience is blissful, but for a lot of us that is not the case and has not been the case the last two years.

Being locked down did amplify, the screaming silently behind the smile.

I’m sure most of us have experienced this at different times in our lives. For sure.

By this I mean saying you’re fine/ok when asked?

When the truth is your far from that, you have internal dialogue going on in your mind and it is progressively getting louder and louder and you are unable to think straight or hold a thought, your concentration levels are non-existent and puts your head in a spin.

Repetitive behaviours or unpredictable behaviours develop shocking your internal world and external world, in some cases, creating chaos in a once stable and happy life. Behavioural signs-

Crying, overeating, no appetite, sleeping problems, restlessness, biting nails, avoiding others, drinking, smoking more, or taking drugs.

Which can result in relationship misunderstandings and breakdowns, at work and home.

Mental signs-

Mental breakdowns or some form of ill health i.e., headaches, stomach upsets, unexplained lack of energy, aches and pains, insomnia, forgetfulness, irritability, feeling low, racing thoughts, making mistakes are some of the mental signs you maybe experiencing any or all of them.

It is amazing what can be hidden behind a smile and the words (“I’m fine.”” I’m ok”)
